Do I Really Need A Professional Designer? (top)
Let me guess... Let me guess, your boss' nephew can design your web site for you, and your boss says he's pretty good. There are a million people out there that can use a drag and drop web design program and put together something that resembles a web site. The difference is in the results. A professional designer has the training and experience to build your web site from the ground up in a timely and professional manner. A professional will make sure that your web site is easy to navigate, easy to read, and conveys the message that YOU want. A professional understand the industry standards, and can design your site to fit them, therefore making your web site work with more browsers. A professional understands the way the search engines work, and can generally place your web site higher on the searches that you want.
How much do you charge? (top)
It depends. Every web site is different, and has different requirements. Generally, sites we design cost $400-$4,000 depending on what's involved.
How long will it take? (top)
Anywhere from 1 week to 6 weeks depending on what's involved. Generally a 5-10 page site is finished within 2 weeks.
Will I be able to update my own site? (top)
This depends on your skill level. Most likely, no. Updating requires going into the pages individually, and adding/removing pictures, text, etc. If you try to do your own updates and you site doesn't look right afterward we do charge for repair.
Where do I register my domain, and host my site? (top)
We provide web hosting and domain name registration through our sister site www.thirteenhosting.com. Every design client receives a 20% discount on web hosting through us. If you already have a domain name and a host, you could stay with them. It is not a problem for us to upload to someone else's server.
Can you build my site with pictures from (insert movie here)? (top)
In a word, NO. Anyone who designs a web site and uses images from a movie, tv show, album cover, etc. is setting you up for a lawsuit. Images from any of those sources are copyrighted. The people who created them put a lot of work into them, and will defend their ownership of them. The old theory of "if it's on the internet, it's free for the taking" is completely false. We design every site from the ground up, and will only use images provided by the client if they are the rightful owners of the images, or have permission from the rightful owner.
What do I have to do to get started? (top)
Email Us! The best way to get started is to email us some information. Some of the things to include are: Type of business, how many pages, do you need a logo designed also, what type of navigation you want, etc. If you have seen web sites that you like, and would like to give us the URL's as examples that would help a lot. If you have a current web site email us the URL so we can take a look at it.
